Briefing session with the Climate Change Committee on progress in adapting to climate change
Parliamentarians and associate members of the Environment APPG attended a briefing session with the Climate Change Committee following their report on adaptation.

In this briefing session, parliamentarians and associate members of the Environment APPG heard from Climate Change Committee experts Dr Richard Millar and Sophie Vipond, following the publication of their report ‘Progress in adapting to climate change: 2025 report to Parliament’. Dr Richard Miller discussed the urgent need for measures in the face of extreme weather events, and Sophie talked about the benefits of using simpler language around adaptation to help discussions outside of policy circles. We also heard from Andrew Forsyth, who discussed the urgent need for solid systems that integrate mitigation with adaptation strategies to be implemented so that businesses are better able to deal with the impacts of climate change, as well as Ali Morse who highlighted the severe rising risk of flooding. The discussion was chaired by Adrian Ramsay MP.
