COP28 marks an important milestone in global efforts to tackle the climate crisis. The Paris Agreement commits signatories to keeping global warming within 1.5 degrees, which requires global emissions to be reduced by 45% by 2030. Seven years have passed since the agreement was made in 2015 and we have seven years left to ensure this critical goal is met. COP28 needs ambition and leadership, especially from high-emitting countries like the UK. The UK must be a climate champion, helping to create consensus around ambitious solutions to tackle the climate crisis, recognising the need for equitable solutions that support global majority nations.

The Environment APPG will be launching its own set of goals for the UK delegation to COP28 at the event and we will be inviting political and expert speakers to address the event too.

This event is open to both parliamentary and associate members. To RSVP and for further questions, please contact the Environment APPG secretariat at appg@green-alliance.org.uk
