Kickstarting the circular economy with Environment Secretary Steve Reed MP

Date: Tuesday 17th June 2025, 5pm - 7pm
Location: Houses of Parliament
The government has set out strong ambitions on the circular economy. It has recognised that by shifting to an economy where waste and harmful materials are designed out and repair, reuse, remanufacturing and high quality recycling are the norm, we can create new jobs and increase the UK’s resilience. With a Circular Economy Strategy in development for the autumn this is a crucial moment to set a long-term path to sustainable growth.
We will hear a keynote speech from Steve Reed on his intentions for the Strategy, and the Environment APPG will launch our report “Kickstarting the circular economy: A six step plan to make better use of resources” with cross-party recommendations on how to drive progress. This will be followed by an expert panel.
This event is open to parliamentarians and associate members of the Environment APPG.
